Newsboys New Album 'God's Not Dead' Reunites Michael Tait & Kevin Max
Further details have been confirmed about the new rock-driven modern worship project from Newsboys, 'God's Not Dead', which will be released on 15th November 2011. Newsboys front man Michael Tait is reunited with his former DC Talk band mate Kevin Max as they share the vocals on title track 'God's Not Dead (Like A Lion)' and also on 'I Am Second', described as the edgiest song on the album.
Newsboys put their signature touch on seven tunes that have recently topped the Church Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) chart, including 'God's Not Dead (Like A Lion)' which was written by Daniel Bashta and is also the album's first single, released digitally on 11th October. Other worship covers include 'Forever Reign', written by award-winning songwriter and producer Jason Ingram and Hillsong's Reuben Morgan and recorded by One Sonic Society and Hillsong, 'Revelation Song' (Gateway Worship and Kari Jobe), 'Your Love Never Fails' (Jesus Culture) and the Hillsong classic 'Mighty To Save' which was also included on Newsboys 'Born Again' album.
Five new original songs are also featured on the album, including 'The King is Coming', 'Here We Stand', and 'All The Way'. The album was produced by Seth Mosley, who was also co-producer on 'Born Again', the band's previous album which sold over 280,000 units and scored three number 1 radio hits after the album debuted at number 4 on the main Billboard 200 charts in its first week.
"There are so many things I love about being a Newsboy - we really are a band of brothers - but the biggest one is that our music always shares the gospel outright," says Tait. "The message is unchanging whether you look at a song as rock or worship. God's not dead, let's worship Him. We serve a living God!"
The band will be headlining the west coast leg of the Winter Jam tour later this year, as well as joining The Story tour, which runs until 18th December. At the start of 2012, Newsboys will embark on their 'God's Not Dead Tour'.
