Newsboys To Cover Worship Songs On New Album 'God's Not Dead'
The new album from Newsboys, 'God's Not Dead', to be released on 15th November 2011, will feature nine cover versions of popular worship songs, plus three new original songs including 'The King Is Coming'. The album will be the follow up to their best-selling album 'Born Again' which sold over 280,000 units and scored three number 1 radio hits after the album debuted at number 4 on the main Billboard 200 charts in its first week.
"Now Newsboys have gone one step further-they have recorded what many will say is their finest worship album ever" says InPop Records. In addition to the three new worship songs, the album includes covers like the anthemic title track 'God's Not Dead (Like A Lion)', penned by Daniel Bashta and previously recorded by artists including David Crowder Band and Kristian Stanfill.
Other cover songs include 'Forever Reign', written by award-winning songwriter and producer Jason Ingram and Hillsong's Reuben Morgan and recorded by One Sonic Society and Hillsong, 'Revelation Song' (Gateway Worship and Kari Jobe), 'Your Love Never Fails' (Jesus Culture) and the Hillsong classic 'Mighty To Save' which was also included on Newsboys 'Born Again' album.
Seth Mosley, record producer and lead singer from the band Me In Motion who also co-wrote songs on 'Born Again', has been working with Newsboys in the studio on the new album. 'God's Not Dead' is the first worship album from Newsboys since the back to back releases of 'Adoration' and 'Devotion' in 2003/2004, which sold over 720,000 units combined. The band also plan to embark on a 60+ city tour in support of the new album.
