The Ember Days Release New Full Length Album 'Emergency'

Aug 29 2011

New Zealand natives The Ember Days will release their newest full length album 'Emergency' tomorrow, 30th August 2011. The band recorded the album while they were in the studio in 2010 working on their previous release 'Finger Painting EP'. However, while the last EP was very instrumental and considered 'music to read your Bible to', this album is described as "heavier, darker and just plain epic."

"It's definitely a lot heavier at times," says vocalist/guitarist Jason Belcher. "Only one out of the 10 songs is instrumental, which is a big shift from the last one. Vocally, Janell is doing a lot of stuff on this record that she has never done before. It was a big stretch for all of us, so I'm really excited to share it."

"The title came from a dream I had of a burning house. It was on fire and there was sufficient time to put the fire out, but everyone in the house was asleep."
The ensuing lyrics also come from a place of personal growth and revelation. "God has been showing me how I need to match my priorities with His and love others as He loves me... with an unconditional love."

In 2006, Jason and Janell Belcher began the band with a desire to create epic and accessible worship music. To date, the band has put out two full length releases and two EPs. 'Your Eyes Light Up' (2007) and 'The Ember Days EP' (2008) both earned them New Zealand Music Award nominations for Best Christian Album.
