Peter Furler Releases Debut Solo Album 'On Fire'

Jun 21 2011

Former Newsboys lead singer Peter Furler releases his debut solo album 'On Fire' today, 21st June 2011. The album is available now on iTunes and was produced by Seth Mosley (Me In Motion) and Furler himself, with the two of them playing most of the instrumentation heard on the album as well.

Furler's long-time collaborator, Steve Taylor, as well as John Painter (Flemming and John), Jimmy Abegg (Ragamuffin Band) and fellow former Newsboys member Phil Joel all make apperances on the album. British Christian DJ Andy Hunter brings his brilliant programming on the songs 'Psalm 23' and the bonus track, 'Water To Wine'.

In an exclusive interview with Louder Than The Music, Peter said of his new album: "These songs echo my joy, peace, freedom and faith. When we're born again, our spirit is free to join with God's Spirit. Then, if and when we begin reading... and doing what Jesus said, and following the promptings of the Spirit of God, this leads our hearts and minds to live without being bound, trapped... or led by emotions, anxiety or the material. To be 'on fire' is to live the full life of Christ. These songs echo joy... peace... freedom and faith."
