Rebecca St James is not just your normal singer/songwriter, she is also is a very talented and well known actress and author. She began recording her first full length studio album back in 1991. The album was named Refresh My Heart but released under the name Rebecca Jean. Rebecca was 13 at the time and the album is now out of print. Three years later Rebecca went onto to release her first major label album, this self-titled album was produced by Bill Deaton and went onto to enter the Top Contemporary Christian Chart at number 33.

It wasn't until the late 90's that Rebecca's music started to reach a wider audience, with the release of the albums God (1996) and Pray(1999). Those albums really made a massive impacted in the Christian music world, producing the well known songs 'God', 'Pray', and 'Yes, I Believe In God'.

What followed over the next ten years were many album releases, including 2000 release Transform, the 2002 album Worship God and the very successful 2005 release If I Had One Chance To Tell You Something. In 2002, to promote the hit single 'Wait For Me' from her album Transform, Rebecca St James released the book Wait For Me: Rediscovering the Joy of Purity in Romance, which went on to sell over 100,000 copies and spawn a journal and study guide. The song and book promoted sexual abstinence before marriage, and Rebecca has since become a major spokesperson for the subject.

Over the years Rebecca has penned many more books including SHE, Pure and Loved: Stories of Forgiveness, but not only is Rebecca a well known writer, she has been spent time becoming an actress. Between the years of 2005 and the present, she has appeared in the movies Unidentified (2006), Sarah's Choice(2009), Rising Stars (2010) and Suing the Devil (2011).

This month Rebecca releases her ninth studio album I Will Praise You. The album, produced by Mark A Miller (Casting Crowns), is a new collection of worship songs that Rebecca calls her "most personal recording to date". Our very own review said, "With this album, Rebecca would hold her own against any of the strong solo female artists of the modern era. There are touches of a young Madonna, and more modern influences from Dido, GaGa and Rhianna... a world-class album from Rebecca St James".

2011 will be a milestone year for Rebecca, who recently signed with Provident Label Group's Beach Street/ Reunion Records. In addition to her new album, she is currently planning promotional and concert tour dates, a wedding, and is also putting final touches on her ninth book, 'What Is He Thinking' due out in September.
