Tim Hughes & Joel Houston Lined Up For UK's Pentecost Festival 2011

Feb 25 2011

The Pentecost Festival returns in 2011 with a week-long variety of events culminating in a spectacular night of worship at London's O2 Arena on 11th June 2011. Hosted by the Jesus House, Hillsong and Holy Trinity Brompton churches, the night will feature worship led by the Jesus House Choir, Hillsong's Joel Houston and Pete Wilson, and HTB's Tim Hughes, with prayers led by the leaders of the host churches' Pastor Agu Irukwu, Gary Clarke and Nicky Gumbel.

Last year the event was held at the Hammersmith Apollo but quickly sold-out leading to the organisers moving this year's event to the larger capacity O2 venue. "Last year's event brought together five thousand Londoners for a night of celebration, worship and prayer - united in the vision of putting Pentecost firmly back on the calendar and in the hearts of the people of London. In order to make sure we can fit everyone in, this year we’re moving to London's favourite venue, the O2 Arena, for a night of joining together to celebrate 'Life in the Spirit' as the body of Christ from all over London", said the organisers.

Pentecost Festival takes place from 3rd to 12th June 2011 featuring arts, music, drama, comedy, sport, film and discussions. The Festival is a part of SJI, a charity committed to helping the church to engage missionally with the World. Throughout the year SJI run a variety of projects including leadership courses, national tours and Pentecost Festival.
