Claire Hamilton is about to release a new six-song album titled Introducing Claire Hamilton. Clare is one of the worship leaders at CFC Belfast which has nurtured worship leaders like Robin Mark, Johnny Parks, Brian Houston and she also is part of the popular worship group Rend Collective Experiment. To keep the link going, Claire has entrusted Rend's Gareth Gilkeson to produce this album and he adds the Rend sparkle throughout.

It was only last August that I had the honour of reviewing Claire's three track digital EP Lend Me Your Heart, which I thought was a wonderful album with solid songs that showcased Claire at her best. To hone her craft Claire has led worship at many of the big festivals, including Global Day of Prayer, New Wine Ireland and then opening for Brenton Brown and Chris McClarney, if that isn't enough Claire is also part of Eoghan Heaslip's worship team at New Wine.
The three tracks that appeared on the Lend Me Your Heart digital EP appear as the last three tracks on this six track album. Look To The Cross is a power pop/rock song about not letting anything obscure the cross and what Jesus did for us. Breath on Me Breath of God is the strongest song on the album with its haunting tones of worship, the song is about being close to God in the hard times.
If I had to sum up what the album was trying to convey in a sentence it would be mostly about 'drawing close to God', which we can sometimes miss out on due to our busy lives.
Onto the new songs, they come in the form of In View Of Your Mercy, My Refuge and Come Satisfy which features Aaron Keyes. The EP opens with In View Of Your Mercy which reminds me of a song I've heard before, some say that what makes a good song is when you hear it and you think you have heard it somewhere before. The next track My Refuge is a brilliant song and probably one of the strongest on the EP, with Claire singing "Lord have mercy" over and over as a cry to God.
It would be easy for me to compare Claire to the other acoustic female christian vocalists like Esther Alexander and Cathy Burton, and yes she does fit into that style of music, yet Claire has a her own unique voice, mix that with six strong songs and you have her new album, 'Introducing'.
