Former Delirious? Frontman Martin Smith & Wife Anna Both To Release Books
Last modified: 17 Jan 2011
Martin Smith, the lead singer of British worship band Delirious?
, and his wife Anna, will both have their own books published on the same day, 21st February 2011. Martin's book, 'Delirious: My Journey with the Band, A Growing Family and an Army of History Makers
' shares the story of almost two decades leading one of the most innovative worship bands around and includes a foreword written by Matt Redman.
Says publisher David C. Cook, "Martin explains how his childhood brought up in a Brethren family shaped his faith, how academic failure molded his character and how a week spent engineering in a studio with Sir Paul McCartney offered an inspirational start to a career in the music business. From the near-fatal car crash that preempted the birth of Delirious, to the early days of the band as they released overtly-worshipful songs into the mainstream charts, Martin is honest, frank and engaging. He describes the thrill of sharing a stage with the likes of Bon Jovi and Bryan Adams, as well as seeing God perform incredible miracles during their concerts. And Martin is open about the mistakes he made along the way."
Published the same day is Anna's book, 'Meet Mrs Smith: My Adventures with Six Kids, one Rockstar Husband and a Heart to Fight Poverty
' which includes a foreword by Darlene Zschech. "As the wife of Delirious frontman Martin Smith and mother to their six children, Anna Smith is used to a life made up of paradoxes"
, explains David C. Cook. "From near-fatal car crashes that prove to be the start of great new adventures, to the collision of the mundane realities of childcare with the implications of being married to a man who travels the world and captivates crowds of tens of thousands from the stage. Anna Smith writes with clarity, humour and the same manner of kitchen-table warmth and honesty that is on offer to all who join in the fun at the Smith open house. From childbirth to the place of faith within a family, from packing tips for foreign trips to the launch of a new charity, Anna shares it all."
