Blog: LTTM Awards 2010 - The Winners!
Louder Than The Music are delighted to announce the winners of the second annual LTTM Awards. Thank you to everyone who voted and helped to make the 2010 awards even bigger than last year. We've seen many of the nominated artists asking their fans to vote in these awards, making it extremely well contested.
What a year it has been for British rap group LZ7. Following their success in the UK singles chart earlier this year, their loyal following of fans have helped the group earn no fewer than three LTTM Awards this year. As well as picking up Best British Artist, LZ7 also win Best British Album for 'Light', and Song Of The Year for 'This Little Light'.
Best International Album goes to Newsboys for their brilliant 'Born Again' album, which saw former DC Talk star Michael Tait join as the band's new lead singer. The award for Best International Artist goes to Chris Tomlin, widely regarded as one of the best worship leaders around. With his new album 'And If Our God Is For Us' just released, Chris has had a stunning year, even being referred to by Time Magazine as "the most often sung artist anywhere".
The competition for the Best Live Album award was stiff, with some incredible live albums released this year. But the winning album was Delirious' 'Farewell Show - Live In London', recorded at the band's final ever concert together. The award is a fitting tribute to one of Christian music's most loved bands.
The most closely contested category was for Best New Artist, with only a small percentage of votes separating the top few artists. But the winner was British female duo Golddigger who released their debut album 'If Destroyed Still True' earlier this year following their tireless work with young people.
