Steve Parsons To Release 'Beautiful Broken World'

Jul 19 2010

British singer/songwriter Steve Parsons will release his new album 'Beautiful Broken World' on 28th July. The album was recorded with producer/guitarist Dan Wheeler (Cathy Burton, Graham Kendrick) and mixed by Grammy award winning engineer/producer Julian Kindred (Delirious?, Phatfish).

Discussing working with Dan Wheeler on the album, Steve said: "I would pull some demo's together at my home studio, take them to Dan and from there he would start telling me what he liked and didn't like and what he thought would work. We threw ideas back and forth. It was really a collaborative effort". The album also features a host of musical contributors including Cathy Burton on backing vocals, Dan Wheeler on guitar, Mark Prentice on bass and Mark Edwards on Hammond organ. Steve, from Bollington in Cheshire, will be performing an album launch gig on 28th July 2010 at the Christian Life Church in Bollington.

"Steve explores themes of beauty, brokenness and faith in his usual guitar / piano singer songwriter style, with the addition of a polished pop soundscape", says Steve's website, where you can also listen to samples of each of the songs. Steve released his first album 'Simple Faith' in 1996, followed by further albums 'The Colour of Life' (2000), 'Standing' (2002), 'Certain Possibilities' (2004) and a live-in-concert album called 'Ten' (2006).
