Sho Baraka's Second Album 'Lions and Liars' Gets International Release
The second album from Christian hip-hop and rap artist Sho Baraka, 'Lions and Liars' will be released outside of North America for the first time on 21st June. Sho's album was originally released in the USA and Canada through Reach Records in March 2010, and has now been picked up by Kingsway Music for international distribution.
Sho Baraka released his debut album 'Turn My Life Up' in November 2007. Born in Canada, but raised in California, communicating a message as an artist has always been a part of who Sho is. Introduced to Hip Hop at a young age, he grew to love its content and attitude. Living in Southern California during the height of Gangsta Rap presented its challenges to many youth, as well as Sho. In high school Sho and some friends from his neighborhood formed a rap group that began touring with major recording artists. But his life took a different turn after the rap group fizzled, and close friends were killed and others incarcerated due to the gang life they led. The message of his life began to change.
Of the latest album, Kingsway said "With his new album, Sho Baraka gives us a clear picture of what it looks like to be a “Lion” in this culture and master ones domain for the glory of God. We can only be Lions if we negate the lies that this culture bombards us with and gives us a distorted view of what success is. Sho collaborates with Lecrae, JAMM, Trip Lee, Tedashii and many more to help remove “Lions” from the endangered species list. With production from Dj Official, Cheese Williams, Alex Medina, and G-Rocc, Lions & Liars promises to be a sonically diverse journey that will encourage believers to be a “Lion” in this culture."
