Mathew Maciel Releases 'Resisting You' EP

Mathew Maciel has released his five-song EP 'Resisting You', available now on all streaming platforms.


The EP's title track won Mathew a spot in the 2023 You God’s Music Showcase, and asks:

Why do we resist God and His plan? What do we have to lose when trusting God? When we stop resisting, we learn God’s love is deep. His love keeps pulling us to the truth.

“So, what do I have to lose ‘cause I’m done Resisting You.”

Also featured on the new EP are the tracks, 'Life', 'Your Amazing Grace', 'Back To You' and 'Best Part'.

Out of nearly 2000 entries, Mathew was chosen as a contestant in the 2023 “You, God’s Music Showcase” singing competition judged by Dove Award winner Jordan Feliz, The Voice Season 9 winner Jordan Smith and Billboard charting Christian contemporary artist Blanca. The competition had the judges review contestants leading up to the Top 5 that competed live at the Tobin Center in San Antonio, TX.

Mathew’s journey saw him move through 3 rounds of competition which eventually landed him a spot in the Semifinal Round and joining the Top 25 contestants. With strong vocals and original music, Mathew had a profound finish to the competition that he received a personal invite to the live show on July 29th headlined by The Newsboys.

Since 2016, Mathew has released multiple radio hits as well as an EP titled “The Throne” which was released in 2019. 2022 saw Mathew open up for Four-Time Dove Award Winner and Latin Grammy Nominated Artist Alex Zurdo in San Benito, TX as part of his 2022 DTOX Tour. Shortly after that, Mathew was invited to sing the National Anthem at a Corpus Christi Hooks baseball game, the AA affiliates to the World Champion Houston Astros.
