Michael Sandifer Releases 'Just Like You' From New Album

Michael Sandifer has released the first single, 'Just Like You', off his new album, 'Gratitude'.

"Having toured full-time for eight years, “a while ago,” and having three singles in the Top 10, one from my solo album, ( I Will Give Heed), and two with our duo, Santa Fe, (Wider Sky and Love Speaks Louder), I got off the road to be closer to home, my wife, Corine, and our two children, Adrienne and Elias. So, I have been working in investments and financial planning for some time. I never imagined coming back to writing and recording again. But, when my son went off to college, I wrote a song that expressed my emotions and thoughts on what I wanted to say to him. Well, you have to record that type of song, right? Well, one song turned into 10, and here is the first song for radio with more to come.

The producer on this album is Jim Frazier, a musician in Nashville for over 30 years. While we were recording, he was on the road with Jim Messina, (Loggins and Messina), as his keyboard player, and played some for Kenny Loggins, last year. We purposefully kept the production style simple, because so much music today seems overproduced, (too big with seemingly 100 voices on the chorus), unnecessarily. We wanted a peaceful, reflective sound, so the music would not get in the way of the message. I think we accomplished that. However, the production is still top quality.

A major label owner said, “You are the Dan Fogelberg of Christian Music." I think it is okay, even refreshing, to be a Dan Fogelberg-type Christian artist with his more simple production amidst artists with louder and bigger production styles, as long as the production is top quality and the message resonates and touches the listener."
