Davis Mallory Releases Danceable Holiday Track 'Fa La La La'

Dec 20 2023

Singer-songwriter Davis Mallory has released an original holiday track, titled “FA LA LA LA.” Produced by Gustav Blomberg, written by Maria Broberg and Mallory, and mixed and mastered by Daniel Deiev (Depdramez), the track is now available to download.

Inspired during a festive gathering in Sweden, Mallory accepted a playful challenge from his cousins to craft a catchy holiday song. Collaborating with TEN Music Group who represents Swedish pop stars Icona Pop, Zara Larsson, and Benjamin Ingrosso, they have shaped “FA LA LA LA” into a vibrant, dance-ready anthem, ideal for holiday celebrations.

Mallory commented on the idea behind the track, saying “My Swedish cousins taught me the phrase ‘Wham!-ageddon,’ which means to try to go the whole Christmas season without hearing the song "Last Christmas'' as it's so popular and heard everywhere throughout Sweden - and challenged me with trying to write a song as catchy as it! Together with Gustav and Maria, we came up with ‘FA LA LA LA’ that has some ABBA-esque production elements. I'm super proud of it.”

Originally from Marietta, Georgia, Mallory found his calling for music while singing in his church’s choir at a young age. He's an alumnus of MTV’s The Real World: Denver and The Challenge. His educational path led him to New York City where he studied at Dupspot School of Electronic Music, eventually anchoring him in Nashville, Tennessee to pursue songwriting and releasing original music. He is currently enrolled at the Los Angeles Academy for Artists and Music Production (LAAMP) founded by Stargate, the Norwegian producer duo for Rihanna, Beyonce, and Lady Gaga.

His song “Beautiful Girls (Diem’s Song)" gained attention from People Magazine, US Weekly, E! News, and MTV News as it was a tribute to his late MTV co-star Diem Brown after she lost her battle with cancer. In 2017, he signed his single “Loud” to Grammy-nominated DJ/producer Cedric Gervais’ label Delecta which was quickly followed by a collaboration with Swedish DJ-producer John Dahlback on “Anyone Would Know” signed to Armin Van Buuren's label Armada. He has also released music on dance labels such as Warner KnightVision, Quattro, Sony Thrive, Revealed, Hexagon, Soave, Loudkult, and more.

Mallory released his debut album Loud in 2017. His music video for his single “Be Without You” premiered on PopDust, and “Not That Far Away” premiered on significant radio stations in both the US and France. In January of 2021, he released his sophomore album Little Victory, which is a collection of pop songs written in Nashville, Sweden, and Germany. In May of 2023, he released an EP titled American Boy which was produced at TEN Music Group. This will be a part of a larger, full length album that he plans to release in 2024.

Currently, Mallory is represented by Talent Trek in Nashville, Famous Faces in Miami and Nevaland Music in Amsterdam.
