Malachi’s Ministry Offers A Refreshing Sound That Enlivens The Spirit on 'For the Most High'

Nov 13 2023

Malachi’s Ministry is the artistic expression of vocalist Joe Malachi. Through upbeat and mellow music, Malachi shares positive messages with lyrics that reflect on his own life and relationship with God. His songs have spiritual meaning with universal appeal and have been chosen for both Christian and secular playlists.

For the Most High by Malachi’s Ministry draws upon influences from rock, pop, hip hop, R&B, and spoken word, while blending these styles of music together into one cohesive record. Produced by Philly-based guitarist Gabriele Guma, the EP opens with the mellow vibes of Praise Be, flows with the upbeat Mercy, rocks on Christ Alive, moves smoothly on God Alone, and closes with an atmospheric impassioned version of Psalm 57. Originals and reimagined covers by songwriters known to Malachi create the eclectic mix of the music found on the record.

Praise Be is an ambient song that produces a feeling of floating into a spiritual meditation while experiencing the surroundings of nature. The relaxing music has a calming presence with guitar work enhancing the sound to create a mellow vibe with a subtle heaviness. Praise Be is sonically unique while maintaining simplicity, and includes interesting elements that deliver a mesmerizing effect.

Mercy combines musical influences from pop, rock, dance and R&B. Resembling Post Malone with an ensemble, Malachi sings in the upper register and raps in his lower voice. Mercy moves along though upbeat music while the lyrics contemplate our relationship with God.

Christ Alive is an alternative rock song that evokes a sense of urgency and poses important questions. The empowering message: value time, understand your needs, overcome struggle, follow your heart and stand strong. Malachi says, “The inspiration for the lyrics came from my reconnecting with Christ again, especially as a teacher, and how that experience helped me to focus on manifesting my goals. Yet the song is not preachy and meant for everyone, regardless of what you believe.”

God Alone creates a mellow mood with low-fi guitar over a smooth beat that draws the listener into a prayerful experience with lyrics that flow like a poetic devotional meditation. The vocals are delivered in the style of Leonard Cohen, and the words and music together induce a trance-like quality.

Psalm 57 sounds like a spatial-audio multidimensional sensation of music elevating the emotional rendition of the sacred scripture read by Malachi.

For the Most High by Malachi’s Ministry will be released on November 17, 2023. Praise Be, Mercy, and Christ Alive have been previously released streaming as singles, reaching an international audience.

For the Most High by Malachi’s Ministry is being promoted to radio programmers, music supervisors, playlist curators and blogs at this time with the strategy to release music, build an audience, and play live shows. Malachi’s Ministry plans to perform at music festivals, conferences, local venues and as an opening act for bands on tour. Achievements this past year include establishing an international audience on YouTube, increasing plays on Spotify, and growing a fanbase on social media. Malachi’s Ministry will promote For the Most High the remainder of 2023 and into 2024, with more music scheduled for release next year.
