Jars Of Clay Release 'Flood(Ed)' EP To Raise Funds For Nashville Flood Victims Jars of Clay have released a digital EP called 'Flood(ed) A Benefit' to raise funds for those impacted by the recent flooding in their hometown of Nashville. The EP costs just $1 to download, with all proceeds going to charity, and contains five different versions of their song 'Flood'. Visit the band's website to download the EP.

"On May 1st and 2nd of 2010, our hometown of Nashville and its surrounding areas suffered a devastating flood,", said the band. "The impact of this extremely rare event was felt by us and countless others in our community, resulting in loss of life and over $1.5 billion in damage to property and infrastructure. In an effort to help those who have lost everything, we have put together an EP with five different versions of our song, 'Flood'. 100% of the proceeds from your purchase will go directly to charities aiding in flood relief efforts in the Nashville community, administered by MusiCares Nashville Flood Relief. Our goal is to raise $100,000 and we need your help!"

The band's own Nashville studio, Gray Matters, was one of many properties damaged during the flooding. This has resulted in a delay to the recording of their new album 'The Shelter', due out in 2011, but the band say they are anxious to get back to recording when not out doing shows.

Jars of Clay recently won two Dove Awards at the 41st Annual GMA Dove Awards, Best Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year for their latest album 'The Long Fall Back To Earth' as well as an award for the album's Recorded Music Packaging.
