Jennifer Knapp Releases New Album 'Letting Go'

May 12 2010

Singer/Songwriter Jennifer Knapp has returned from a seven year hiatus to release her first album of new music for nine years. 'Letting Go' was released yesterday, 11th May 2010 on her own independent record label, Graylin Records. Recorded in Nashville the album was produced by Paul Moak (Mat Kearney, Martha Wainwright, Amy Grant) and features ten intimate folk, country tinged rock songs.

"It is a humbling honor to have such devoted fans that have waited for my return to writing and performing," explains Jennifer Knapp. "For me, it is the refuge of quiet places that has always birthed the depths of sincerity that music unveils. In the end, no song carries it’s full voice until it has been shared. It is truly overwhelming to have the opportunity to re-emerge with a fresh vision and passion knowing that lovers of music are there to share the joy."

Jennifer has been previewing her new music on a co-headline tour with Derek Webb, which kicked off in March. She will also join this summer’s Lilith Fair tour. Knapp's impressive history includes selling over one million albums with her previous releases 'Kansas' (debut 1998), 'Lay It Down' (2000), and 'The Way I Am' (2001). The Kansas-born musician toured the globe with artists such as Jars of Clay and was featured on 1999’s Lilith Fair tour. Jennifer went on to win her first Dove Award in 1999 for Best New Artist, scored a Grammy nod in 2002 and another Dove nomination in 2003. After seven years of soul searching and time spent in Australia, Knapp comes full circle in 2010 with a new album, new tour and a renewed love of music.
