London's KXC Releasing New Live EP 'Hope Again'

Jul 20 2022

KXC, a church in Central London serving the people of King's Cross and beyond, will release their new EP 'Hope Again' on Friday 22 July.

"It's a huge honour to announce the imminent release of KXC’s new EP “Hope Again” on Friday 22 July", says Tom Eccleshall, Worship Pastor at KXC. "I’m so excited about every single song on this EP, and I passionately believe and pray that these songs bring life to anyone who hears and worships with them.

‘One song from the EP that I’d love to highlight is “Christ Crucified”. I ended up writing this song just three or four weeks before the live recording, and it instantly felt different to all the songs we’d written for the project. Some of the concepts of the song had been floating around in my head for a while, but I remember sitting down at the piano that one night, and all the jigsaw pieces just seemed to fall into place in one evening.

‘At the time of writing this song, I was deeply aware of the divisions growing in our society, and even within the church. With that in mind, while sitting at the piano, writing this song, I had a feeling: “Wouldn’t it be a beautiful gift to our church if this song could be a song that helps to bring unity to our church family, that whatever our disagreements may be, we can all rally around the beauty of Jesus and passionately declare together the truth that he was crucified, he was raised to life, he will come again and we will rise with him?”

‘In 1 Corinthians 1, Paul urges the church not to be divided by following various leaders, but instead to be united in Christ. Paul says, “Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul?” He then goes on to explain that he “preaches Christ crucified”which is foolishness to many but to believers it is the power and wisdom of God. As Christians this is the crux of what we believe, and it is incredibly powerful to declare that truth together as a church, just as it has been done for centuries with the Apostles Creed.

‘I hope that this song helps you to focus on Jesus in your personal times of worship, and also when your church meets together - because I believe Jesus is wanting us to draw near him."
