Singer/Songwriter Rosalyn Singh Releases 'I Choose You'
Rosalyn Singh, a singer born and raised in the twin island republic of Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean, but presently living in New York, has released her debut single, 'I Choose You'. This song was written for anyone praying for their future spouse.
Following this first single, Rosalyn will be back in the studio in TN this April to record vocals for her second song, and then again later in the year to record the third.
Rosalyn explains that the song was "birthed out of my own personal story of praying for my future spouse. In 2019 the Lord led me to start praying for my future spouse (something I didn’t know I was supposed to be doing). I mentioned to my vocal coach at that time that I was living this story, and he encouraged me to start writing. So one day I sat down and in about 20 mins I wrote 'I Choose You'. Not as a song, but as a poem.
I connected with Ross King and Jay Speight (also my producer), and they helped me craft my lyrics into this beautiful song. The song is structured in the exact chain of events as they happened. 1st verse - Me talking (praying) to God about my future spouse. 2nd verse - Me talking to my future husband about his past and that every part of his past, and my past led us together. Bridge - After doing all that I could, God asked me to give it over to him so he could do what only he can. And this really happened. One day as I was leaving work I felt the Lord saying to me it was time to lay it down, and wait. And here I am in the waiting phase."
