Worship Band The Future Is Release 'Something New'
The Future Is (TFI) is a new worship band based in the Pacific Northwest. Since October, they have released three singles, and are excited to finally release their debut EP 'Something New' on February 11th. While their students have worshipped to these songs since June, this will be their debut to the rest of the world.
The band formed out of a desire to provide the students at their youth group at CTK Skagit Church in Burlington, WA with worship music that sounded like their favorite pop songs. With inspiration from bands like The 1975, The Band CAMIMO, Lauv, and LANY, TFI pushes the boundaries of contemporary Christian music.
Even more important than their sound, the team has a heart to create music that will resonate with young people everywhere and move them to worship and enter into a closer relationship with God. In a world where everything is constantly changing, from trends to COVID-based closures to relationships and more, the need for songs of truth is more prevalent than ever.
COVID-19 created a unique environment for TFI, enabling them to meet weekly to write, develop, and eventually record their music. As the summer of 2021 wore on, changing circumstances caused multiple members of the band to move away. While the team used to be based exclusively in Western Washington, they are now spread across Washington, California and Oklahoma.
Aside from their musical positions in the band, the seven members of TFI are everything from students to pastors to developers to security guards, and also serve on their churches' individual worship teams.
TFI has remained dedicated to promoting and releasing their music despite the distance.
