Kelly Vaughn Releases 'I Believe In Your Power' From 'Angels and Outlaws' Album

Oct 02 2020

Kelly Vaughn, a singer/songwriter from Dallas, Texas, has released his new single 'I Believe In Your Power', taken from the recently released new album 'Angels and Outlaws'.

"This song is about the healing power of God", he explains. "When you have looked within yourself and cannot find peace turn to God. He can hear you and heal you!"

"I woke up in the middle of the night and was troubled about a loss that I felt. I couldn’t shake it. Although it had been 7 years since the event happened, I was no further along in my struggle. Then it dawned on me: maybe I had been praying for the wrong thing. Instead of praying for things to return to the way they had been before (which clearly was not happening) I decided to pray for acceptance and healing. In that moment I felt instantly better! There was a peace that came over me and I no longer felt that burden on my shoulders. God truly has the power to heal. I knew that I had to write a song about it. The next morning, I hit record on my phone and it just poured out. The song was there from the first chord I hit. I barely changed anything other than adding more lyrics. This song was a gift from God. I hope this song will reach people and lead them to the same peace I found with my situation."

Kelly is a contemporary artists that draw comparisons are Rob Thomas, John Mayer and Third Eye Blind. His guitar playing has been described as a cross between Santana and Stevie Ray Vaughan, and he has also been compared to Christian artists such as Josh Wilson, Brandon Heath and Chris Tomlin.

Kelly is the Worship Leader at Canyon Creek Presbyterian Church in Richardson, TX.
