Think synths, think clever picking guitars and airy voices and you start to understand the sound of this album.
It is without question this set of songs falls into the Jesus Culture and Hillsong United genre and style of live worship album sounds. 'Messiah' starts slow and builds to a crescendo of praise and the tempo is then kept for the solid 'Steadfast' with its Coldplay style guitars and pounding drums. That's where the up-tempo songs stop. The rest of the album is filled with intimate worship songs. I really love the melody of the chorus in 'Roses' and I love how reflective the songs like 'Perfume' are.
There is so much on here that is well worth checking out. Strong songs, solid songs, creativity in the songs and so much more. I would say this album, or at least a lot of the songs on here, are for moments. Press play and just stand in awe of God, don’t worry about belting these songs out vocally, let them talk to you personally. These songs in general are for the worshipper to spend a reflective time with God.
