Her mother, a gifted songwriter and worship leader, passed this mantle to a daughter who seemed from her youngest years innately wired for music. She was captivated by the piano and at age seven both began piano lessons and knelt with her mother to personally ask Jesus into her heart. Vicky's increasing passion to know God more deeply led her to study theology at Oxford University. By now a classically trained pianist, guitarist, songwriter, she was starting to become recognised as an emerging young praise and worship leader.
Following graduation from Oxford, Vicky continued her training as a worship leader under the mentorship of Brenton Brown at Oxford Vineyard Church. Her songwriting skills and understanding of music theory sharpened with the influence of Brian Doerksen, writer of 'Come Now Is the Time to Worship'.
Vicky's debut release on Integrity Music is 'Eternity Invades'. Released this month it brings an intellectual yet responsible melodic voice to today’s modern worship. The CD re-introduces Beeching as one of today's most gifted female worship leaders, and her new music is a testament to her credentials as both a thoughtful theologian and accomplished musician and songwriter. With Eternity Invades, Beeching offers 13 new worship songs that will have as much power being sung by intimate chapel gatherings, mega-church congregations or by just a single man or woman yearning to draw heaven into earth. Beeching wrote all of the songs on the record, including collaborations with Robin Mark, Steve Fee and others.
Prior to being signed by Integrity Music, 30-year-old Vicky has released two critically acclaimed CDs: 'Yesterday Today and Forever' (2005) and 'Painting The Invisible' (2007). Vicky also wrote and performed songs on the Vineyard releases 'Hungry, Holy, Surrender' and 'Best of Vineyard' and was later associated with Soul Survivor in London, contributing to their 'People’s Album' and 'Live Worship 2005'.
During this time she led worship alongside Matt Redman, Tim Hughes and Brenton Brown. Since 2004 Vicky has been based in the USA, but has frequently returned to the UK to lead worship at churches and events. She will be leading worship on the main stage at the UK's Spring Harvest 2010 (Minehead).
A few weeks ago Vicky launched her newest online venture, the Women In Worship Network. Beeching hosts this new community, where she offers encouragement to female worship leaders, and the opportunity for them to connect with one another via a mini social network and forums. The site had over 2,000 visits on its first day and has over 200 active members.
Equally important to women in ministry is Beeching's role as an advocate for social justice and she has involved herself with organizations like Hope for Justice, Compassion International and The International Justice Mission.
"Justice is a huge ethereal reality, but God breaks it down into bite-sized chunks in passages like Isaiah 51. It's about opening your eyes when someone is suffering, not turning away. If everybody did that, we really could change the world," she said.
